Scribbles & Smiles Crafty Kits

Hi! I’m glad you’re here.

In creating the Crafty Kits line, I am motivated by a problem that I have always had in my years as a part-time hobby crafter… my problem is that I don’t like to repeatedly make the same things over and over and I believe there are many others out there that can relate.

At times, I would have an idea of something cool, creative, beautiful, or functional and I just had to make it! I would often need to run out for materials and end up buying twenty or more parts when I only needed one or two. Every pipe cleaner, bead, string, or doodad comes in packages of 12 or 100… or more!

Eventually, I had containers-full, then drawers, closets, even an entire room filled with craft “stuff” that I didn’t need. That “problem” led me to an idea for a craft studio. My customers loved being able to come in and craft without having to purchase and store extra supplies and they no longer had to feel bad if they threw away fifteen perfectly good pipe cleaners, or six containers of paint that had gone bad.

My hope is to offer unique crafts with just the right amounts. I want to help everyone enjoy crafting/making and to inspire creativity, fun, productivity, and learning for pleasure.

About Tracey (Me)

I have always had a passion for both teaching and crafting. I taught software classes to professional adults for eleven years and then started and grew a business over the course of twenty years building to upward of fifty employees. For those 30+ years, I was able to craft occasionally, only when I had extra time.

In 2018, I started a new business called DIY Studio in my home state of Utah. DIY Studio offered walk-in crafting, classes, and parties and was an amazing adventure until 2020… Now, back in the Great State of Texas, I am so excited to get back to mentoring with Olio Consulting and crafting again with Scribbles & Smiles!

Throughout my life, I have been blessed with many opportunities to teach a variety of subjects to people whose ages ranged from 2 to 82! When I teach “how” to make a craft, just as when I am teaching business operations, I am usually also teaching how to improvise. With creative thinking, there are many solutions to making art, fixing a cherished item, or working around obstacles without having all the “correct” tools, supplies, or ingredients!

I can’t wait to help you Make Something!
